I'm helping plan a family trip (4 adults) and need to decide if we should stay 4, 5, or 6 nights in May 2015. Star Wars Weekend = must. Specifics: 2 rooms POFQ (1 king, 1 garden), DDP, PH, MM. How much more would we spend/save based on trip length? Than

    Hi Victoria,

What a great issue to have: deciding just how many days to stay at Walt Disney World! After looking at all of your specifics, and seeing that Star Wars Weekends is a must (you're right -- it is!), I just had to answer this question for you.

When it comes to getting the best deal out of your Walt Disney World experience, staying longer will yield you a better savings. 5 or 6 days not only produces a more affordable offer when booking your vacation package, but it will give you ample time to enjoy all of the parks, and even the amenities at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter. Keep in mind that Star Wars Weekends is 3 days, and there will be many different activities each day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. That will leave you a few days to visit the other parks, or relax at your resort. When I chat with other frugal families about their Walt Disney World vacation, I always emphasize a built-in "down day" where you explore your resort. We budget for our resort stays, so why not dedicate time to enjoy them? You won't regret spending the day lounging in Doubloon Lagoon and a Horse-Drawn carriage ride. In your case, a 6 day vacation would be perfect, since 3 of those days will be utilized at Star Wars Weekends.

I hope this answered your question, Victoria. If you have any more questions about your upcoming vacation, please feel free to ask. I'm always here to help.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
