I'm hearing great things about Chef Mickey’s and ‘Ohana. But one of my sons is a very picky eater. Which do you think is better?

    Hi Suzanne:

As to a food battle between Chef Mickey's and Ohana's, my family always enjoys a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's, so I have a bias towards Chef Mickey's. Both Chef Mickey's and Ohana's have character breakfasts. At Chef Mickey's, you can enjoy a huge breakfast buffet (including eggs, waffles, pastries, cereals, and more) with Mickey, Minnie, Donald and friends, while at Ohana's, you can enjoy served family-style eggs, bacon, and sausages, among other foods at 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch. For breakfast, I prefer the food at Chef Mickey's.

For dinner, I prefer the food at Ohana's over Chef Mickey's. Dinner at Chef Mickey's is a character dinner which includes a large dinner buffet including roast chicken, beef and an awesome sundae bar. Dinner at Ohana's features meat-filled skewers cooked over an oak fire pit served at your table along with stir-fried vegetables, fried dumplings, lo mein noodles, and salad. Dinner at Ohana's does not have characters, but the family can have fun with storytellers, coconut races (kinda like curling), hula hoops, and dancing.

If you can, I would schedule a Chef Mickey's breakfast and a dinner at Ohana's. Due to the variety of traditional food options at both restaurants, picky eaters should be satisfied at both. However, if there is particular food item that your son wants to eat that is not featured in the buffet or on a menu, feel free to ask your server. If possible, Disney will try to work with your son to make sure he is satisfied.

    Enjoy your vacation.
