I'm heading to DL in Nov, and will find out over the next 2 to 3 months if a family trip to WDW is on the cards for next year. I'm thinking that if the trip to WDW is a go, would it be in my best interests to upgrade my 5 day hopper pass to a Premier A/P??

Hi Patricia! It would certainly be a magical year if you could visit both great Disney parks destinations!  I was just fortunate to visit Disneyland for the first time in about 20 years as well as Disney Paris this past spring. Since I head to Walt Disney World at least four times a year they were fun trips to see the magic in two other locations.

I did upgrade my regular Premium Seasonal Pass to the Premiere Seasonal Pass for this past year. If you know that you will be spending about two weeks combined in the two locations it can be a great savings for you. It will all depend on how many days you plan to be in the six different parks on both coasts. And you would need to make sure both visits would be within a year so your pass would cover them.

The Premiere Pass will bring you great discounts at the west coast locations but will only offer the normal 10% at the Florida parks. This past spring Disney reduced the discounts in Florida from 20% and 15% for all getting a flat 10% on shopping and recreation.  When traveling to Disneyland and California Adventure I was given 15% or 20% at all times. Obviously this might change in the future but at this time the discounts are greater in California then Florida.

When you know for sure about possible Florida travel sit down and figure out the number of days that you would spend in both locations and do the simple math for park hopper tickets. This will show you whether it is worth the money for the Premiere Pass at this time.
