I'm heading to Disney soon, and I plan to buy a gimbal for steadier videos. I saw conflicting answers on this website about whether it is allowed. I will get either a DJI Ronin SC or a Zhiyun Crane M2. Are these gimbals ok?

    Hello RJ,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Summer will be here before you know it, and so will your Walt Disney World vacation. Whether you're strolling down Main Street U.S.A., discovering Kilimanjaro Safaris, or experiencing the sights and sounds of Disney's Harmonious, there are so many magical moments you'll want to capture.

A gimbal is such a helpful tool for creating steady videos, ones that you look forward to watching long after your trip has ended. I see guests using gimbals all of the time. They are allowed inside the parks as long as they don't have any type of telescoping extension rod. I briefly looked at both of the ones you mention, and they appear to be okay, although the Zhiyun Crane M2 looks like it might have an extension rod as an added accessory. You'll want to leave that behind as it won't be allowed in any of the parks.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
