Hi Caitlin! Welcome to planDisney! It's great to have you stop by with your question!
Oh boy! Twelve days to enjoy everything at the
Walt Disney World Resort! I dream of taking a trip this long! My family and I were there for seven days in February and had an amazing time. But having the vacation spill into the following week is something I need to experience at some point. It allows you to take things slower and not rush around from ride to ride, since you will have multiple days at each park to fit everything in.
Securing your
Advanced Dining Reservations is a priority during the planning stages. As you are aware, Disney allows you to make reservations 60 days in advance of your arrival date and up to 10 days after. A great strategy is to plan the hard-to-get reservations toward the middle-to-end of the trip. Most Guests will need to wait until the 60-day mark, but you have the advantage of booking 65-70 days in advance on a few of those dates. For example,
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant has been a tough reservation to secure as of late. I planned this for the last day of our trip and was able to snag a dinner reservation since I was competing against fewer Guests.
Since your trip extends past the 10-day window, you will need to wait until the 60-day mark to book reservations for the final day. With this being the case, I would recommend going for a reservation that you are confident you can get. There are so many restaurants to choose from at Walt Disney World that I doubt you will have any problems. If you can find a way to fit a visit to
Disney's Wilderness Lodge in your plans, try to get a reservation for
Whispering Canyon Cafe. They have a variety of all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets that are out of this world delicious! These reservations are not as hard to come by and might be a great option for the last night.
Caitlin, have a magical time on your upcoming stay! I hope you enjoy being a part of the
World's Most Magical Celebration!
See ya real soon!
