Bright suns Staci! It's great to see you back at planDisney to go over some last-minute details before you blast off to a galaxy far, far away.
It's certainly been an exciting summer at Walt Disney World, and my fellow panelists who have spent time in the theme parks recently have been especially pleased with Disney's health and safety measures and pleasant crowd levels. While exact capacity and attendance numbers are not released, reports of manageable wait times for attractions have been reported throughout the phased reopening.
In order to promote physical distancing measures, Disney is putting extra space between groups on ride vehicles, meaning that attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance aren't able to accommodate quite as many guests as before. In order to battle the First Order, guests will have the opportunity to join a virtual queue at either 10 AM or 2 PM. I suggest first trying at 10, so you have another chance later in the day in case you are unsuccessful. Here are some tips for the best chance at joining forces with Rey and friends:
You must be inside Disney's Hollywood Studios, through the entry point, and logged into your My Disney Experience account to join the virtual queue. I recommend logging in a few minutes ahead of time.
Once you are in the My Disney Experience app, select "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue" on the home screen. This will take you to the next steps. If the app indicates that there is no availability, you may have the option to join a backup group.
You can enroll everyone in your party in the virtual queue at the same time provided they are all linked in My Disney Experience.
Multiple members of your party can log into their My Disney Experience accounts and attempt to join the virtual queue at once for the entire group, but you will only be able to gain one space in the virtual queue per day.
If you encounter any problems throughout the process, locate a Cast Member at the Guest Experience Team for assistance. I hope it's a smooth ride for you!
During your visit to Planet Batuu, I suggest refueling at the local eatery, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering is available) or grabbing a drink at the notorious watering hole, Oga's Cantina (be sure to make a reservation). If you are interested in taking home your very own astromech unit, consider making a reservation at the Droid Depot. Finally, I hear the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy is in need of a new flight crew to help move some goods at Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Are you up to the challenge?
Staci, I hope you have a magical day living your own Star Wars adventure at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Stay safe, and best wishes for joining the Resistance.
May the Force be with you,
Betsy
