I'm headed to Disney World in January with a group of 15 (9 adults, 2 older kids, 4 toddlers) and we'd like to do a couple group meals. What restaurants are a good fit for a big group like this?

Welcome to planDisney, Matthew! I'm so glad that you came to us today to ask about my favorite thing about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation: the food. I travel to The Most Magical Place On Earth every year with a group about the size of the one you're planning, so I've got lots of ideas for restaurants that will be well-suited to your large party.

Let's start with one of my favorite places to eat with a group of any size: Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This restaurant is a buffet that has a wide variety of dishes to please any palate, from the pickiest eaters to your more adventurous diners. It's a big restaurant with lots of large tables, and I have found it pretty easy to get a reservation for a big group here.

Next, I recommend trying Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This restaurant has a family-style menu, meaning they'll bring sharable skillets to your table and keep bringing out more until you're finished. They have large tables and are open from breakfast through dinner, so it's the perfect place to try and dine at an off-peak time for a better chance of getting a big table together.

I think you should also check out the menu at Biergarten Restaurant at EPCOT! It's a really fun restaurant in the Germany Pavilion that has a lot of large tables big enough for your whole group. The restaurant is themed to be an Oktoberfest celebration and there is live music and dancing, so it will definitely be a meal to remember.

Finally, I want to recommend 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. This is a legendary Disney restaurant that is really popular for its cheerful family atmosphere and delicious food. They have some large tables here, but it is quite popular and will probably book up the quickest of all the restaurants I recommended for you today.

Matthew, when it comes time to book your reservation, you may find that you can't book all 15 members of your party at the same table on your own. There are a few ways that you can make your booking, and the first recommended way is by calling (407) WDW-DINE and speaking with a Cast Member about reserving a dining time for a large party. Dining reservations open up at 6:00 AM Eastern Time 60 days before your trip, and since some of these restaurants book up fast, I recommend calling as close to that time as possible. You can also book using the My Disney Experience app, but the app may not show you availability for a party of 15 people. If this is the case, you can book two or three smaller tables at or around the same time. When you arrive at the restaurant to check in for your reservation, let the host stand know that your three reservations are the same party and that you'd like to be seated together or as close to each other as possible. This can't be guaranteed, but everyone will do their best to honor your request.

I hope this answers your question, Matthew, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
