I’m headed to Disney land in a couple weeks. I have fibromyalgia and wearing fabric on my shoulders tends to cause me pain, will I be allowed to wear an off the shoulder t shirt through the parks?

    Hi there, Amber!

Your visit to the Disneyland Resort is just a week or so away! Sounds like you are getting your packing list together ahead of your visit, and I'm happy to provide some guidance to ensure you are comfortable for your day in the magic. Let's take a look!

When it comes to attire at the parks, the Disneyland Resort Property Rules generally state that the resort reserves the right to deny admission to Guests wearing attire that is considered inappropriate and attire that could detract from the experience of fellow Guests. There is a dose of common sense here, as specific types of clothing are not mentioned as being prohibited. If you are mindful that the tops are not too revealing, you should not have an issue with wearing off-the-shoulder tops. If you need further guidance or reassurance, I recommend calling the Guest Services team, who will be happy to assist you.

Now is such an incredible time to be at the Happiest Place on Earth. You are going to love all the festivities around the 70th anniversary, from the entertainment to treats to limited-time merchandise, all themed to this special celebration. The Disney Parks Blog has put together a Guide to the 70th, which I recommend reading through ahead of your visit, not only to give you a lay of the land but also to get you excited for all that is to come! You can earmark some must-try sweets and experiences to schedule into your park days. The Foodie Guide is especially helpful as there are exclusive sweet and savory delights throughout the resort that will have your tastebuds "Celebrating Happy"! For me, I love everything that's sprinkled with the color palette of the party, from the Celebration Matterhorn Macaroon at Jolly Holiday to the 70th Celebration Cake at Plaza Inn, and even the Sparkling Peach Punch at Red Rose Taverne. You are in for such a treat...pun intended!

Amber, I sure hope this was helpful in your planning and that you are strolling down Main Street in comfort very soon. If you have any more questions, we are always here at planDisney to help with a friendly tip or two. Now, just sit back and wait for the pixie dust to settle in around you and make some unforgettable memories.

    Magic awaits!
