I'm having a hard time finding an on-property hotel for my Disney dates. Can you tell me about the transportation and amenity options of the hotels in the new Flamingo Crossing area? (buses, extended hours?) Thank you!

    Hi Kristen,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! November is such a fun time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort because Christmas decor and treats make their way throughout the Theme Parks. Make sure to stay tuned to Disney Parks Blog to see what’s happening during the time of your vacation!

When it comes to choosing a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you always want to start looking as early as possible (which you're doing!) and remain flexible with your dates. Sometimes you may not be able to find a hotel on the specific dates you’re entering, so try to adjust the days. For example, you could try arriving a day earlier and leaving a day earlier (if your schedule allows). I also suggest checking often throughout the day, more options could drop in or there could be cancellations and you’ll want to catch them if they become available.

I’ve actually stayed in the Flamingo Crossings area recently and really enjoyed it! Being that this area is at the west entrance of Disney property, you’re only a few minutes away from Disney’s Animal Kingdom and EPCOT! With hotels like Fairfield Inn by Marriott at Western Entrance, Residence Inn by Marriott at Western Entrance, and Home2 Suites by Hilton at Western Entrance, you’ll need to check with the resorts directly to learn about their transportation offerings. It looks like there’s a fee. For my family, it was easier to drive to the Theme Parks. Keep in mind that the transportation offered at these hotels won’t be the Disney Resorts Collection bus transportation.

When it comes to the hotels surrounding Disney property, there are specific ones that are a part of Early Entry and Extended Evenings. You’ll want to check out which hotels have those options as you’re planning for your vacation. I’ve used both services while staying at Walt Disney World in the past and having Early Entry or Extended Evenings definitely helps with the timing of your Disney day!

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you search for your family’s perfect hotel option. If you have any other planning or vacation questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
