Im having a hard time deciding between POR Riverside or French Quarter. How far away is the French from Riverside water taxi and other recreation? I know my 6yr old would LOVE what Riverside has to offer but im trying to sleep away from the hussle-n-bussle

    Hi Alesha!

Many guests absolutely love Port Orleans French Quarter and think it is the best moderate resort at Walt Disney World.  However, I prefer Port Orleans Riverside much better.  I particularly love the Alligator Bayou section of Port Orleans, especially the theming.  I also like the fact that there is a Table Service restaurant and I think the Riverside Food Court is a lot better than French Quarter's, unless you particularly like what is on the menu at French Quarter.  There is also cane pole fishing and carriage ridges at Riverside.  Finally, the swimming pool at Riverside is larger and has a relatively long water slide.

You can walk from French Quarter to Riverside, but it is a long walk (about 15 minutes), especially in the summer when it is generally hot and humid.  However, you can take a boat between the two resorts.  You do not have to go to Riverside to get the water taxi to Downtown Disney; it will stop at French Quarter.  By the way, I think the boat to Downtown Disney is very nice, especially at night.

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any questions.
