I'm going to the Halloween Spooky Spectacular and I read through the guidelines for the costume, but I was wondering if I'd be able to paint my face for a skeleton costume, I was planning on using paint, or just makeup

    Hi Marissa! Welcome to planDisney!

You are in for a Spooktacular time at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! This is my favorite event I have ever attended at the Walt Disney World Resort, and for many reasons! First off, the entertainment offerings are some of the best and most creative that Disney has offered. I still remember seeing Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade and being so incredibly impressed with it all. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular was filled with some of your favorite villains and was the star of the night for us. The character meet and greets are plentiful during the party, including a very special one including the pumpkin king himself, Jack Skellington! This was worth the price of admission alone. There are some delicious Halloween treats to try and traditional trick-or-treat opportunities around the park.

I love that you are deciding to dress the part for the event. Having Guests dressed up in their favorite costumes is part of the fun of it all. While there are some restrictions on what you can and cannot wear, there is no mention of painting your face in the verbiage. You are not allowed to wear masks that cover your face, but you should be fine with just adding some face paint. Make sure to read over the guidelines for the event to make sure the rest of your costume will be acceptable. I don't want you to arrive at the party and have to make any last-minute changes to your costume. Also, make sure to consider the weather. August can still be pretty hot in the evenings, so you are going to want to make sure you are comfortable during the event.

Remember, you are allowed to enter the Magic Kingdom Park starting at 4 PM on this day, three hours before the official start of the party. I would suggest getting something to eat during this time or riding some of your favorite attractions. Once the party starts, I would focus on the Halloween-themed events and take in all that the party has to offer. All of the Enchanting Entertainment options are must-see experiences.

Marissa, I hope you have an amazing time attending this event! I'm happy that it is making its triumphant return after three long years.

    See ya real soon!
