I'm a grandmother planning our first trip for my daughter and her 4 year old arriving Christmas Day. We want to stay at the Grand Floridian - what is the best area to stay and we plan to do everything in Magic Kingdom - any suggestions?

    Hi Vickie,

What an incredible trip you are going to have!  A first time trip to Disney World with your daughter and granddaughter?  Priceless.

In my opinion, if you can book the Grand Floridian it's the best!  Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, but the Christmas decorations are spectacular!  The convenience of getting to Magic Kingdom is amazing too.  You can take a water ferry or the Monorail directly to the park.

You also have a few other choices.  The Polynesian and The Contemporary resorts are also very close to Magic Kingdom.  They have the same travel opportunities, although you can take a 5 to 10 minute stroll straight to the park from The Contemporary.

Hope this helps!  Enjoy your girls and take lots of pictures...you'll be making some really magical memories on this trip.

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
