I'm giving my family WDW Annual Passes as 2013 Christmas gifts with the idea of visiting in May / June 2014 when my daughter graduates. Should I purchase the passes before making reservations?

    Hi there, Deborah!

I'm so excited for you and your family! Annual passes to Walt Disney World will surely make wonderful Christmas gifts that will last all year long!

If you are planning on purchasing your passes online, you will actually get a voucher to print out and redeem the next time you are at Walt Disney World. So, the clock won't start ticking, so to speak, until you trade those vouchers in for your actual passes.

My vote is that if you know where you'd like to stay, go ahead and make your room reservations now so you get the location you want. Even if you have a pretty good idea of which Resort hotel you're looking to stay in, it pays to reserve early. If any discounts or specials come up that you qualify for after you've made your reservations, you can call and have that particular discount applied to your reservation.

I sure hope this helps, Deborah! Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question and please don't hesitate to let us know if we can help with any other questions you have.

Wishing you a Pixie Dusted vacation!
