I'm gifting my 4 year old daughter a trip to Disneyland for Christmas and am looking for a way to reveal it to her. Do you offer video messages from characters or anything of the sort? She can't read yet so I have to get creative.

Greetings, Chris, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so excited for your family’s upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort! What a perfect Christmas surprise!

I’d love to help you think of the perfect way to reveal your magical plans. Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer any video messages from Characters. But, there are still plenty of fun ways to surprise your sweet Princess! If you happen to have Elf on the Shelf at your home, you could consider having your Elf deliver the exciting news, perhaps by placing the Elf next to a brand-new Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse plush. I’ve also seen some adorable Christmas-themed Disney “tickets” you can purchase for digital download on Etsy. Even though your daughter can’t read, she’ll still understand the idea when she sees a magical “boarding pass” with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and her name at the top!

My next idea depends on how close you are to the Disneyland Resort. If you’re able to get to Downtown Disney District before Christmas, you could stop by the World of Disney store and purchase your daughter’s first pair of Mickey Ears to place under your tree for the big reveal on Christmas Day!

Or, if Downtown Disney District is too far of a drive for you, perhaps you could find a cute Disney-themed shirt or sweatshirt for your Mouseketeer at your local Disney Store, or even Target. Or, what about a new Disney-themed backpack or suitcase with her favorite Character? I recently spotted some adorable suitcases at my local Disney Store. Then, your daughter can start packing her favorite things for your epic family vacation!

For an experience she’ll never forget, you may want to consider making a reservation for a Princess makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, located inside Disneyland Park! My daughter recently celebrated her birthday at the Boutique with a Cinderella transformation, and had the time of her life! After that, you won’t want to miss Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome in Disney California Adventure Park, where your daughter can meet these two Frozen favorites in their new Frozen 2 outfits!

Please stop by with any additional planning questions, Chris… I’m all EARs!
