Ciao, Giancarlo from Italy. Benvenuto to planDisney!
You're in for such a treat when you visit
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in
Disney's Hollywood Studios, especially if you are building a lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop. Oh wait. We're supposed to call it scrap metal. The First Order is all over Batuu and we can't let them know we're building tools to fight them! I've seen many Storm Troopers and even
Kylo Ren walking the paths of this land. So just be careful!
Security at the Orlando International Airport sees many lightsabers each day and most airlines will allow you to check them with your luggage or even carry them on. To be on the safe side, I would recommend checking with your airline ahead of time, but ultimately, this is a souvenir and usually isn't a problem. While you
can ship these items to domestic locations, they cannot be shipped internationally from the resort at this time. However, there are locations for shipping companies like UPS and FedEx around the Orlando area that will have options for you to ship it home should you choose.
Speaking of
Disney Springs, if you're visiting in the summer, be sure to check out the brand-new drone show that I can't stop talking about! It's called
Disney Dreams That Soar and it's centered around characters that have the gift of flight or have a wish to fly.
Disney Parks Blog recently gave a sneak peek into this brand-new show and I can't wait to see it for myself this July. And you'll want to
read up on all the new experiences coming to the resort for the summer. As a teacher, this is usually my time to visit and there's always something exciting going on...and it looks like this summer will be no exception!
Giancarlo, may the Force be with you when building your, um, scrap metal. If you have any other questions,
I'd be happy to answer them!
Arrivederci,
Matt
