I'm getting ready to book our first trip for October 2016 I would love to get the free dining plan but I understand it could be next spring before that is offered if at all, my questions is when I book my package can I add the meal plan at a later date?

Hi Sherry,

It is possible to add the dining plan to a package, but you could run into a few issues. While Disney has released a Free Dining special offer over the past few years, there are no guarantees it will be offered in the future. I know several people who booked a package hoping for a Free Dining promotion, but when the promotion was released their travel dates were not included.

One other issue is there are a limited number of Free Dining promotions available for each resort. If your resort reaches its limit before you are able to add the promotion to your reservation, you might have to change resorts.

My best advice is to stay as flexible as you can with your dates and resort choice. My next advice would be to keep an eye on the Special Offers page and the Disney Parks Blog next spring. It looks like the Free Dining promotion was released in late April this year. The sooner you can modify your reservation, the better chance you have of snagging the Free Dining promotion.
