I’m getting married in July 2026 just outside of Walt Disney World and we are staying at the Grand Floridian the day of our wedding. Can we take photos in our wedding dress at the resort on our own phones when we check in?

    Hiya Lauren,

Welcome to planDisney! First off, congratulations; I wish you and your loved one a very happily ever after as you begin this new chapter in your fairytale. One of my favorite people in the whole wide world, Ana Paula, recently celebrated her honeymoon at Walt Disney World Resort, so if you want to chat about how to make your honeymoon even more magical, she's definitely your girl!

Now, let's discuss your question. The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is one of my favorite resorts for photos. I always love how luxurious the lobby feels, and the landscaping is beyond picturesque. I've often seen Guests taking pictures when I've stayed there, but since I want to ensure I don't steer you in the wrong direction, I wanted to confirm with a Cast Member if there was any rule I was missing. When we chatted, we reviewed the property guidelines. We didn't find anything that prohibited taking photos in your wedding attire at the Grand Floridian Resort, especially if you were a Guest (using your own mobile devices). That said, Cast Members at the resort do have discretion to make that final call, especially given the resort's popularity. The Cast Member I spoke to advised that you ask when you check in (or call the resort in advance) if there are any restrictions on photos.

I hope this was helpful, Lauren. I know you mentioned that you were all planning to take photos using your own mobile devices, but I wanted to share a note about outside professional photographers. Currently, the property rules prohibit photography for unapproved commercial purposes. If you plan to have a professional photographer take your photos, they will need to sign an agreement in advance and provide proof of insurance to be allowed to take pictures for you. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
