Well, hello there, Kaitlin! Welcome back to planDisney. It's time to gleam and glow!
This is the first question I have answered in over a year, and what a magical way to step back into the light! I mean, getting your haircut at
Harmony Barber Shop in
Magic Kingdom Park is on my bucket list, so I get to fantasize about it with you. But most importantly, donating your hair is a generous and thoughtful act that helps pass on the magic of the
Walt Disney World Resort to someone who needs it. Thank you for doing this!
When you get to the barber shop, inform the Cast Member that you will be donating your hair. While they will not be able to donate it for you at this time, they should be able to gather your hair into a ponytail, place it in a bag, and have it ready for you to send to the organization of your choosing. With so many incredible organizations doing this important work, you can choose the one that resonates most with you.
That brings us to the next question: what about the hair that’s left, beyond a fresh new cut? Maybe you can ask the Cast Member for a pixie dusting to give it some extra sparkle? Of course, you have to take a few pictures with
Disney PhotoPass showing off your new 'do around the park! But what I
really think you should do is take a picture with your hair by the tower inspired by
Tangled, which is home to the best themed
restrooms in all of the Walt Disney World Resort. You can find this tower on the way to the Haunted Mansion from
"it's a small world" in Fantasyland. When in doubt, use the map in the
My Disney Experience mobile app, click "Restrooms" at the top, and find the restrooms near the tower right there on the map! You can even select them (referred to as the "Restrooms near 'it's a small world'") and click "Get Directions." Once there, grab those locks, hum the "
Healing Incantation," and smile as you take an epic picture to commemorate your donation and the best day ever!
Kaitlin, thanks so much for bringing your question to us. Keep them coming! Enjoy every moment of your vacation, and thank you so much for your donation.
Wishing you a vacation that lets your dreams finally
see the light,
Matt
