I’m just getting familiar with making dining reservations for our upcoming trip. When I tried to make reservations this evening (June 7th) via mobile app or desktop, I was unable to make reservations 60 days out for Aug 6th. Could only book to Aug 5?

    Hiya Michelle!

Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! I was so excited when I saw your question in our queue as I always love to answer questions from my fellow Canadians. How excited are you to be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort? I know these vacations are always so special, especially when you can escape the brutal Canadian cold and trade it in for sunny Florida weather!

Typically, the rule is that dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, and Disney Resort hotel Guests can make their reservations up to 60 days ahead of their arrival date and for the totality of their stay, up to a length of 10 days. When checking on my My Disney Experience mobile app or on the Walt Disney World Resort website as I am writing this (June 9th, 2022), I was able to make reservations up to 60 days in advance, or up to August 8th, 2022 inclusively. Dining reservations are typically made available starting at 6:00 A.M. ET, so I am not sure why you could not see the availability for August 6th, 2022. If you are still experiencing issues with your dining reservations, I would highly recommend calling the Disney Reservation Center, as Cast Members may be able to see more availability. Indeed, I always turn to Cast Members whenever I need help, and they truly are real-life magic makers!

If you cannot get the dining reservation of your choice, do not fret! My number one trick when it comes to dining reservations is to check availability the week before your visit. Now I know what you might be thinking, isn't that too late? All the good stuff will be gone! As someone who likes to plan everything, I would completely agree, but I have noticed that many popular reservations become available with a week's notice due to cancellations. Definitely check every once in a while if you have a particular restaurant you want to experience, but make sure to check availabilities the week before your trip!

I hope this was helpful, Michelle, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your next Disney vacation! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Ever wonder if we can help? The answer is always yes, we Can-ada!

    Have a magical day,
