I'm getting conflicting answers from my travel agent and an old post from Bernie on the moms panel. Help! We are flying in from Canada and going to AoA. If I place ME luggage tags, do I need to pick up my luggage at the airport to clear customs? Thx :)

    Hi Caroline!

Thanks for sending in your question!

From the Walt Disney World website: “If the Orlando International Airport is your first point of entry into the United States, please follow the U.S. Customs & Border Protection process and claim your luggage upon disembarking the airplane. Once you have completed this process you will give your luggage back to the airport officials and proceed to the Disney’s Magical Express Welcome Center on B side, Level 1."

However, from some points of departure in Canada, you can actually go through US customs before leaving Canada (i.e. before arriving in the United States).  In that case, the above doesn't apply to you.  You can just put your Disney's Magical Express tags on in Canada and you will be good to go when you land in Orlando.  I suggest going with the advice of your travel agent who understands your situation, point of departure, etc clearly or calling Disney's Magical Express directly and discussing your situation with them.  Most Canadians, but not all, actually clear US customs in Canada and thus have no issues in Orlando.

I'm sorry for the confusion, but I hope this helps!  Please write back if you need any clarification!
