Hi Brandy,
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm happy to clarify the blockout dates for you. They are confusing to a number of guests.
The dates apply only to those of us who have certain
Florida Resident annual passes. In exchange for great rates on passes, we forfeit the ability to visit during certain peak times of the year, including the height of the summer season. Some other special ticket offers occasionally have blockout dates, but they should have no effect on your visit.
That said, because summer is a very busy time, I suggest that you plan your vacation in advance to be sure you get the resort,
dining reservations and
FastPass+ choices you prefer. You can make dining reservations 180 days in advance, regardless of whether you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort or not. If you purchase tickets in advance and link them to your My Disney Experience account, you can make FastPass+ reservations for your top rides and attractions 60 days in advance if you are staying on Disney property, 30 days in advance if you are not.
Please let us know if we can help with suggestions and recommendations for resorts, parks or dining. We love to share our experiences with other guests.
Enjoy,
Wilma
