Hiya Joshua,
Welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you and your wife are planning to purchase Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passes. With
Annual Passes, you can visit the Most Magical Vacation for holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, and just because it’s Tuesday (at least that is what we do).
First off, Joshua, great question! As a Florida resident, you have access to specially priced Florida Resident Theme Park tickets, stays at Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels, and Annual Passes. Florida residency is determined by having a valid form of Florida identification that provides proof of a Florida residential address. It is not determined per household, unfortunately. To purchase Annual Passes for your wife, she must also provide her own valid proof of Florida residency. Since you’ve already mentioned that your wife doesn’t have Florida IDs yet,
other forms of residence include the following documents in her name: a current utility bill dated no more than two months ago, proof of current mortgage, bills, registration, and certain pieces of mail. If your wife doesn’t have any of these, you cannot purchase Annual Passes at the Florida Resident rate for her (even if you can do so for yourself).
I hope this was helpful, Joshua. Please come back and see
us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning!
Ashley F.
