I'm a Florida Resident planning on coming to Disney with my little sister, who is not a Florida Resident, but who is a minor (16). I was planning buying her ticket as a gift, but would I be able to buy the same Florida Resident ticket for her also?

Hi Brittany and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How wonderful that you’re planning to visit the Walt Disney World Resort with your little sister! I can’t think of a better birthday gift!

I have good news, you may buy a Florida Resident ticket for your sister. Since she is 16, she is still considered a minor. Anyone over the age of 18 must show Proof of Florida Residency in the form of a government issued ID or a utility bill to be able to purchase and use a Florida Resident ticket.

There are a few important things to note about Florida Resident tickets. They can be purchased online or you can find them at several retail stores. Many times, even at the check-out area of Florida grocery stores! These tickets can be activated at Will Call/ Guest Relations at Disney Springs or any other Guest Relations location or ticket window at any Disney theme or water park.

Brittany, no matter where you purchase your tickets, just make sure that they are linked to your My Disney Experience account because you will still be able to make FastPass+ selections 30 days before your scheduled visit. You would have 60 days before your scheduled visit to make selections if you’re a Disney Resort hotel guest.

I hope this information is helpful to you as you continue your planning! For any other planning tips, don’t hesitate to drop by and see us again!
