Hey there, Jesseca, and welcome to planDisney!
I love this question so much; thank you for sending it my way! One of my favorite things to do is to get my out-of-state family and friends excited for practically perfect days at Walt Disney World. And your mom is so lucky to have a daughter who wants to celebrate her at The Most Magical Place on Earth. It’s my pleasure to share ways that you can make some magic for your family.
First, as a Florida resident and for any residents in your party, check out the
Special Offers page. Even if you haven’t found ideal discounts for your trip yet, you can always apply future deals to your already booked trip. Simply
call a Disney Cast Member and they can apply it to your package.
To really get the party started, my number one way to get my crew to get excited for a Disney vacation is to show them videos and photos of my own old staycations. Seeing the joy on my boys’ faces while hugging Mickey Mouse and snacking on DOLE Whips definitely encourages them to visit to make memories with us. If you haven’t visited yet—that changes soon!—I recommend finding out what your family members’ favorite Disney characters and movies are and making a list of where to find those stories around the parks. For example, if you have someone in your family who loves Star Wars, show them
Hollywood Studios’s Galaxy’s Edge land. Having the chance to see the Millennium Falcon up close is immersion like nothing they’ve experienced before.
I’ll add that there are some great special offers that are coming up this summer for all Guests (not just for Florida residents). One pretty sweet deal this summer is that everyone in your room gets
free admission to the Disney Water Parks on their Resort hotel check-in day. This is an amazing way to kick off their vacation with some fun in the sun. If there are little ones in your extended family, kids ages 3-9 get a
free dining plan with a purchase of other plans as a part of a vacation package.
AN EXTRA GEM: Booking a
Capture Your Moment photo session is 100% worth it to celebrate your mom’s special occasion. Having a private photo shoot with a PhotoPass photographer, walking around your favorite theme park is a fun change of pace from a normal theme park day and it’s an easy way to get high quality images of your family.
Jesseca, I hope that this helps jumpstart your planning adventure. Don’t hesitate to
revisit us here at planDisney if you have any other Disney Destinations vacation questions.
Magic always,
LeAndra
