Hi I'm a first timer and I was wondering what the "key to the world" card is. Also, we have pre-purchased our tickets online and received them, are they the actual tickets that we will be carrying around all week? What happens if one of our kid

Great question!!  The "Key to the World" card is a plastic card the size of a credit card.  Each member of your family will have their own "Key to the World" card with their name on it.  The card will act as the key to your resort room, your ticket into the various parks, and will keep track of your meals if you are on the dining plan.  If you would like to have charging privileges your "Key to the World" card will be your 'credit card' in the parks.  The "Key to the World" card is given to guests upon check in at any of the Walt Disney World Resorts.  If you are not staying on-site you will have most probably paper tickets.  I couldn't see the end of the question, but I assume the end was What happens if one of our kids lose their card?  If you or your children would lose their card, you can report it to Guest Relations as soon as it is known to have been lost.  Each time you enter the parks the cards must be placed in the turnstile machine and a finger placed on a fingerprint screen.  Its to protect you if someone takes your card.  We have lost a card and was able to get a new one last time.  We also put limits on the kids spending ability with their cards.  They only had 30.00 for emergencies.  The little ones had no spending privileges as they should not be without our supervision.  I hope you have a fabulous trip!!
