I'm going for the first time in 2022 and was wondering if Rise of the Resistance will still be a digital queue or is it only this whilst there are covid restrictions?

Bright suns, Sara! The Force must be strong with you. You seem to know all the right questions to ask when planning a visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened in December 2019 (pre-pandemic) as a virtual queue experience and has continued as a virtual queue experience in its nearly two years of operation. Based upon all that I have read (and heard), there is no indication that this incredibly popular attraction will move away from the virtual queue.

The other attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which actually opened first, is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! This attraction continues to utilize the traditional standby line. My family visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge two weeks ago. We arrived early in the morning, about 30 minutes prior to the official park opening, and found the queue to be quite shorter than it would normally be later in the morning or throughout the day.

Sara, whether in a virtual or traditional queue, both attractions are worth the wait! May the Force be with you!
