Hi I'm going on my first Alaskan Cruise with my family and was wondering if it would be a rush to do 2 back to back Port Adventures since we'll be in port for more than 12 hours. Also would private Adventures be better for flexibility? Thanks

    Hi Connie!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and wahoo for booking your FIRST Disney Cruise Line Alaskan adventure!  My family sailed through Alaska just this past month and it was simply WONDERful!  We had the most amazing time and I am already looking into another Alaskan voyage because it was the perfect way to escape the summer temperatures in Texas!

Disney Cruise Line’s Port Adventures team does the best job of finding the best excursions for Guests to embark on when they visit different ports of call.  And in Alaska there is so much to do that often the biggest decision you will have to make is which excursion to choose!  Unfortunately, Disney Cruise Line will often not allow Guests to book multiple Port Adventures for the same port of call unless there is a significant time buffer between the two excursions.  Although most Port Adventures stick pretty close to the schedule departure and return times, there can be unforeseen delays that would result in getting back to the ship a little later than anticipated.  So, to ensure that Guests don’t miss out on their next excursion, you will likely be limited to booking only one.  But once your onboard booking window opens you can explore the times available and see if you can make more than one work for your day on land!  While I have often booked directly with Port Adventures for the convenience, there have been times that my family has booked private excursions or tours to ensure that we were able to do and see all that we wanted.  So, yes, that is an option you may want to look into and consider, but please be aware that you must ensure you are back onboard by that “All Aboard” time!

My family absolutely loved visiting the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau and Port Adventures gives you a variety of way to see it!  We opted for a less adventurous excursion on our most recent trip and then hiked to the top of Mount Roberts for some incredible views once our tour got back to the port!  But next time we would like to experience dog sledding via a helicopter ride!  I heard that was incredible!

Have so much fun planning for this unforgettable adventure!
