Hi, Jonathan! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
My husband and I have been visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort with our kiddos since they were little Mouseketeers. The yEARs have flown by, and our children are now 13 and 11-years old. A lot has changed since their first visit, but their love of the Walt Disney World Resort remains the same. The Walt Disney World Resort is such a magical vacation destination for guests of all ages, including
teens and tweens!
Children need to be at least 13-years old to create their own
My Disney Experience account. Prior to this, they will have a profile under a parent's My Disney Experience Family & Friends List. Although a 13-year old may have their own account, their profile does not automatically convert to their own account when they turn 13.
Other members of your family do not necessarily need to have their own My Disney Experience accounts. For example, I manage the vacation plans for my entire family, and I am the only family member who has a My Disney Experience account. My husband and children have My Disney Experience profiles under my account.
If you want your child to have his or her own account when they turn 13, you would need to delete them from your account and then create a new account for them. This could be an issue if you already have them included in plans for an upcoming trip. If this is the case, you may need to wait until after that trip takes place to create the new account. If you have additional questions related to My Disney Experience, please feel free to
call the Help Center if you need to speak with a Cast Member.
See ya real soon!
