I’m so excited for my trip next week 9/26-10/2. I live in Idaho so 85 degrees is completely different here than in Florida. Any weather tips for that week? What are you hearing out there?

Hey there, Brenda, and welcome to planDisney!

Florida is definitely a huge change from Idaho. They take that Sunshine State moniker very seriously, and in September the sun feels like it's sitting on your shoulder, sharing your L'Artisan des Glaces treats. While hurricane season is upon us, I haven't heard of anything brewing in the Gulf, so you should be good. But as a true Louisiana girl who's never let a storm get her down, I can definitely tell you a thing or two.

The big three in the weather watch game in September at the Walt Disney World Resort are high heat, high humidity, and almost guaranteed daily thunderstorms. It's easy to feel like you've jumped in the resort pool with your clothes on, so moisture-wicking clothing and light, breathable fabrics are going to be your best friends. And sunscreen! Don't you even dream of forgetting your sunscreen. It also wouldn't hurt to grab yourself a personal fan. If you haven't gotten any already, make a last-minute purchase of some good ponchos. When those rain showers pop up, you'll be glad they're in your park bag.

Pro-tip: Speaking of showers, if it rains during your day(and it probably will), don't sweat it. Instead of leaving the park, pop on your poncho, head to an indoor show or attraction like Mickey's PhilharMagic or Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. Perhaps grab a little something to snack on indoors. The rain doesn't usually last too long, and when it's done, that's prime time to hightail it to an attraction with an outdoor line like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Pro, PRO-tip: I would also recommend getting up and hitting the parks super early. You can get in quite a few attractions before the heat really sets in, head back to your resort for a little swim, shower, and change of clothes, and then go back to the parks for the evening.

Brenda, I'm wishing you a little black non-rain cloud to hide you from the sun, a breeze to keep you cool, and a magical time on your trip next week. Drink your water and have a blast. If you have any other questions before you go, please come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
