Hello, I'm very excited to see that Space 220 will finally be opening at EPCOT! On what date will reservations be open? Will Passholders, DVC Members, or resort guests be given priority access to reservations or will it be a complete free for all?

    Hi Andrew!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

Over the past few months, it's been so exciting to watch as Epcot is transforming before our eyes at Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney's vision of Epcot was that it "would always be in a state of becoming", and would change and evolve with time to offer Guests new and unique experiences. When the latest transformation is complete, Epcot will feature four "Neighborhoods": World Showcase, World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery.

The World Discovery area will be home to a brand new dining location - Space 220. The restaurant is located next to the Mission: SPACE pavilion, and will be a fabulous and very unique dining experience! The immersive dining event will begin as Guests check in to the Space 220 Departure Lounge, and will continue with a journey on a "Space Elevator" that will transport diners 220 miles above Earth to the Centauri Space Station. Diners will enjoy a panoramic view of Earth below as they feast on out-of-this-world dishes with a two-course prix fixe menu at lunchtime and a three-course prix fixe menu during dinner hours. A wine list and cosmic cocktails will be available, and I cant wait to see what unique concoctions will be on the menu!

While the opening date of Space 220 is still a bit of a galactic mystery (the only announcement has been mid-September), I'm keeping a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog and Walt Disney World on Facebook and Twitter for the most up-to-date news regarding the liftoff of this awesome new experience. I'm hoping we'll know more information soon, including whether or not Annual Passholders, DVC Members, or Resort Guests will have priority access to reservations.

Keep your eyes on the stars and your ears open for the latest announcements, and please come back and visit us here at planDisney with any other questions you have before your Walt Disney World vacation! Our panel is made up of Guests, just like you, who draw from our own personal Disney vacation experiences to share tips and advice to help add a bit of extra magic to yours.

    To infinity and beyond!
