It’s lovely to see you back at planDisney, Amanda! We’re less than two months away from
D23 Day at the Disneyland Resort, and I don’t know about you, but I already have my magical countdown activated.
While you’re right that we don’t quite have all the details yet, perhaps we can put on our Rescue Ranger hats and glean some insight from the past. The D23 Mickey Mouse ear hats will once again be available while supplies last at both parks. To ensure you get to take a pair of these little beauties home with you, I recommend arriving in time for rope drop. Last time around, my pal and fellow panelist,
Matt, and I arrived about an hour and a half before park opening time. Security generally opens about an hour before the park does and I’m happy to share that we were successful in securing our keepsake ears!
During the
last D23 Day, there were special characters making limited-time appearances and a special cavalcade that featured the Disneyland Band, 23 characters and select Disney Legends. There were also dance parties happening at Tomorrowland Terrace and even a live band that kicked up the energy in the evening. As for merchandise, there were special collectible medallions in addition to special apparel and items commemorating the first-ever D23 Day. There were even unique photo offerings and a commemorative guide at the entrance gate. The festivities even extended to Downtown Disney District with special D23 offerings at select locations when you presented your D23 badge or membership card.
I have a feeling that you’re already keeping a watchful eye on
Disney Parks Blog for any news. I’m hopeful that we’ll get an update by the end of July with more details on what to expect. I also recommend downloading the
Disney D23 app for all things related to
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. If history tells us anything, boy, are we in for a treat for D23 Day!
