I'm a DVC member and will be staying at BoardWalk Villas and have six guests. Can we view the fireworks display at midnight New Years Eve from the Top of the World Lounge?

    Hi Herbert,

A stay at Disney's BoardWalk Villas over New Year's Eve sounds spectacular!  I truly love Disney's BoardWalk Villas and all of the hustle and bustle around Crescent Lake.

Typically, as a Disney Vacation Club member staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you would be able to take guests with you who are staying on your reservation to the Top of the World Lounge.  However, there are blockout dates for this, which include December 30 and 31, 2014, as well as July 3 and 4, 2015.  Therefore, you will not be able to visit Top of the World Lounge on New Year's Eve.  Perhaps if you are arriving before December 30 or staying after January 1, you could head to Top of the World Lounge on an evening that is not blocked out.  For the full policy on this, visit the Disney Vacation Club member website.  Select the "Destinations" tab from the top of the site and choose Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  If you scroll down on this page, you can find the full policy about Top of the World Lounge.

Since you are staying at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, perhaps you could consider visiting either Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios on New Year's Eve.  Either of these would be a quick boat ride or walk back to your resort after the midnight festivities, which would be priceless on the often very crowded New Year's Eve!  My family and I spent last New Year's Eve at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  We had an absolute blast taking in attractions and then counting down to the New Year with Mulch, Sweat, and Shears, followed by fabulous fireworks.  Do be sure to check for this year's entertainment as you get closer to your travel dates as it is always subject to change.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Herbert!  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
