Hi. I'm a DVC member who is doing a split stay at Bay Lake Tower and Beach Club in March 2018. It's my first time staying at either location. Anything key at these resorts that I should check out? It will be me, my wife and 2 boys (8 & 10).

    Hi Robert,

You are heading to two of my favorite resorts at Walt Disney World. Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is sleek and modern. Disney's Beach Club Villas is quaint and charming. Staying at both on one trip will allow you to experience two very different and wonderful resorts!

Consider the location of each of these resorts. Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is within walking distance of Magic Kingdom, so plan your Magic Kingdom days for when you are staying there. Also, if you plan to do any dining at the resorts accessible by the monorail, plan them for this part of your stay. Likewise, from Disney's Beach Club Villas, you can walk or take a quick boat ride to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, so plan those days accordingly. Also be sure to take advantage of the entertainment and dining located around Crescent Lake during this part of your stay, including at Disney's BoardWalk.

As for the resorts, spend some time at the pool area at each. Disney's Beach Club Villas has the wonderful Stormalong Bay, which offers a lazy river and sandy area. I also love Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. It is quiet and has a great waterslide, as well as a nice poolside bar for snacks and drinks. At Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, check out Top of the World Lounge, located atop of the resort. This lounge is available exclusively for Disney Vacation Club members and their guests. If you are not heading into a theme park one evening, it is a great place from which to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Your children can go too - my daughter loved watching the fireworks from up there!

Please let us know if you have any further questions, Robert!
