I'm a DVC member and my AP expires on the first day of my June trip. Park reservation booking is open, but I'm blocked out. I can't renew my AP until April. How am I supposed to make plans? Do I just have to wait and take whatever's left?

Hey there, Christina! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question. I always love chatting with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member and Walt Disney World Annual Passholder!

Well, Christina, you have come to the right place, because, like Chip 'n' Dale, you and I are twinning! I am also a Disney Vacation Club Member with a trip planned this spring, and I, too, have an Annual Pass that expires right before my trip begins. As someone who loves the planning process, I have already purchased my tickets to Drawn to Life, the awe-inspiring new Cirque du Soleil show in Disney Springs, I know exactly which Advanced Dining Reservations I want to book 60 days before my arrival, and I even have our midday pool breaks penciled in. The only things left on my planning to-do list are to renew my Annual Pass and book our Theme Park Pass reservations as soon as I can, so I appreciate this question and am happy to answer it for you today.

Christina, you can renew your Walt Disney World Annual Pass up to 60 days before and 30 days after the expiration date, so you are correct that you can renew as early as April for your June expiration.  I did call DVC Member Services and spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that 60 days was the earliest that I could renew, even with an upcoming DVC Resort reservation. When I voiced my concern about Park Pass reservation availability, she assured me that I should have plenty of availability 60 days prior to my trip. So, I plan to renew my Annual Pass exactly 60 days before its expiration and then immediately make my Park Pass reservations on My Disney Experience, and that would be my best advice to you, as well. I would suggest still booking all of your Advanced Dining Reservations 60 days before your arrival and then making your Park Pass reservations to coordinate theme park days with your dining reservations as soon as you can. If you have any concerns, just call a helpful Cast Member at DVC Member Services to see if they can assist you.

On your upcoming spring vacation, be sure not to miss EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival! With its gorgeous gardens and amazingly creative character topiaries, EPCOT never looks more beautiful than it does during this Festival. The fresh flavors from the Outdoor Kitchens can't be beaten, so I'd suggest planning multiple snack stops and multiple visits or hopping over after 2:00 p.m. with your Annual Pass! Happy festing!

Christina, I will be wishing upon a star that your planning goes off without a hitch and that you have the most pixie-dusted springtime vacation! I'm wishing you a lifetime of magical memories with your most magical Membership. Stop by any time with any of your vacation planning questions, my Disney twin!

I hope to see ya real soon,
    Mandy
