Hi. I’m due to visit WDW next summer. This is our first trip as DVC members. We’ll be booking a week at the Riviera Resort (our home resort) and a week at Grand Floridian. Can we add a dining plan to our week at the Riviera and how do we do this?

Hi there, Nick! Thanks so much for making a return trip to planDisney--I'm so glad you decided to be our guest once again. How very exciting that you'll be hearing your first official "Welcome Home" as Disney Vacation Club Members next summer! A two-week trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth will certainly work up an appetite, so I am happy to help you add a Disney dining plan to your reservation.

Once you make your reservation at Disney's Riviera Resort, you can add a dining plan anytime up until 48 hours before your check-in date. Once that 2-day deadline passes, you will no longer be able to purchase a dining plan. When you log into the DVC website, select "My DVC" in the top right, then "My Dashboard". Under "My Vacation Plans", select your Riviera booking. This will open a menu of Trip Options and you should see a place to purchase a dining plan.

The dining plans are a great way to prepay for your meals during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and enjoy some of the amazing restaurants available at the theme parks, Resort Hotels, and Disney Springs. You can choose between two options, depending on how your family likes to spend their Disney day:

    • The Disney Dining Plan entitles each Guest aged 3 or older to 1 Table-Service Meal, 1 Quick-Service Meal, and 1 snack or nonalcoholic beverage per night of your stay. We typically pick this plan so we can take a break to relax, enjoy a tasty meal, and decide where we want to go next!
    • The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan includes 2 Quick-Service Meals and 1 snack/nonalcoholic beverage per night of the stay. This is a great option for families on the go--you can even mobile order your food in advance at many locations so you don't miss a moment of fun!
    • Resort-Refillable Drink Mugs are included with both dining plans. These can be used for complimentary refills of soda, coffee, and tea at the self-service beverage stations located in the Resort Hotels. While you can't get free refills in the parks, I recommend bringing your empty mug and filling it with water during the day to stay hydrated!
Nick, hopefully this information is helpful for your planning purposes. If you have any other questions as your 2025 DVC adventure approaches, please don't hesitate to reach out anytime. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney!

    Stay Magical!
