I’m dragging my 22 year-old brother to Disney World for my son’s 10th birthday. He loves art, animation & history. Any park or Disney Springs experiences where he can draw, learn Disney animation history, see artists, or do something creative?

Hi there, Cali! Welcome back to planDisney! I love that you continue to stop by for planning advice, and I'm honored to help sprinkle a little extra magic into your vacation plans!

It sounds to me like you're a pretty great sister! I used to have to drag my brother along too, but now that he has a family of his own, he calls me and says, "Hey sis! Let's meet at Disney!" and I am always happy to say yes!

Last December, I had the unbelievable opportunity to visit the Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank. It was an adventure I'll never forget! Seeing original animation cels and artwork and standing in the place where beloved stories were sketched, drawn, and brought to life, was a once-in-a-lifetime memory for me.

I have a few recommendations that I think your brother will enjoy during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! Disney's Hollywood Studios is home to a wonderful tribute to Walt Disney's legacy. At Walt Disney Presents in Animation Courtyard, you'll have the chance to discover the man behind the mouse and explore rare artifacts, fascinating history, and the story of Walt Disney's incredible journey.

I also have a feeling he'll love Olaf Draws! This fun learn-to-draw series features Olaf as he guides you through drawing some of your favorite Disney characters. Be sure to check out Disney Parks Blog's helpful guide and share it with him. I have an ink-ling that once he starts sketching out a few characters, he won't feel like he's being dragged along at all. In fact, he may be penciling Disney time into his calendar before you do!

And happy birthday to your son! Ten is such a fun double-digit milestone! Be sure to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button from Guest Relations. One of my favorite Disney memories is watching my kids light up every time a Cast Member or fellow Guest wished them a happy birthday. Those little moments always seem to draw the biggest smiles.

Cali, I'm glad your son will have his uncle along for this adventure. Like the best Disney stories, vacations are even better when they're shared with the people you love. If we can help with any more tips as you count down to the magic, we're here for you!

    Pixie-dusted wishes,
    Kimberly
