If I'm doing a little "resort hopping", can I bus to the Fort Wilderness Campground, take an internal bus to Settlement, and then transfer to the Wilderness Lodge, even if I'm not staying at either the campground or lodge?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Patrick!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! It looks like you will be arriving in just a few days, and we can't wait for you to start your MAGICAL adventure!

Resort hopping at Disney World is one of the most underrated experiences! It’s like discovering hidden treasure sprinkled with pixie dust across the property. Each resort has its own personality, charm, and flavor, and two of the most fun to explore are Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. Both resorts are rustic, cozy, and full of that “you’ve escaped to the woods” feeling right in the middle of the FUN.

So, are you ready for some TIGGER-ific news? I am excited to share that you absolutely can hop over using Disney transportation and resort hop, even if you’re not staying at either resort! You can take a Disney bus to Fort Wilderness, then hop on one of the internal buses to get to The Settlement Depot (that’s where all the fun stuff happens). From there, you can easily take a boat over to Wilderness Lodge. It’s a short, relaxing ride that’s extra MAGICAL in the evening when the lanterns glow on Bay Lake.

Fort Wilderness itself is such a hidden gem. You’ll find horseback riding, archery, fishing, and even wagon rides if you’re in the mood for a little frontier fun. Then, when you reach Wilderness Lodge, you’ll be wowed by its soaring lobby, roaring fireplace, and that jaw-dropping Pacific Northwest design. And if you’re hungry while resort hopping, you’ve got to try Geyser Point Bar & Grill — it’s an open-air lakeside spot at Wilderness Lodge with stunning views and a menu full of fresh, delicious bites.

Go ahead and plan your resort-hopping adventure! Even if you’re not staying there, Disney welcomes you to explore, dine, and enjoy the atmosphere. Just remember, exploring Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge isn’t just a side trip. It’s an experience filled with charm, relaxation, and maybe even a little extra pixie dust along the way!

If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
