I'm going to DisneyWorld for my honeymoon, and had the worst time setting up dining reservations. We want it to be special, and have woken up (once the 60days hit) at 4:30 am CT to book. Each day has been booked by 5am. Is there someone we can call?

    Hi Chance, welcome to planDisney!

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! A honeymoon at Walt Disney World sounds like the perfect place to kickstart your happily ever after journey. In fact, that's the choice my husband and I made, as well, almost 15 years ago. I have such fond memories of our time spent in the parks, by the pool, and enjoying a variety of dining experiences. Let's see if I can help get you excited about some magical possibilities for your upcoming trip.

Many people are answering magic's call to Walt Disney World Resort during the 50th Anniversary Celebration. This also means many people are making advance dining reservations, which explains the limited availability you've experienced. Just to make sure we're on the same page, Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can make dining reservations for their entire stay, up to 10 days, online 60 days before arrival beginning at 6:00 a.m. EST. All other Guests may make their reservations as each day reaches the 60-day mark. I appreciate your efforts to be the early bird that catches the dining reservation. That kind of dedication and perseverance will serve you well in your marriage as well as your Disney planning efforts. You do have the option of making dining reservations over the phone at (407)939-3463, though you will likely experience an extensive wait time and the Cast Members have eyes on the same inventory you and I see online. I'd like to offer some alternative solutions, instead.

In the My Disney Experience mobile app, click the "+" at the bottom of the home screen and "Check Dining Availability." Though I prefer making dining reservations online when I know exactly what I'm looking for, this search feature is exclusive to the app and provides you with a list of available options based on your party size, date, and meal preference. For example, a search for breakfast options for a party of two on June 7 just now revealed seven delicious options, including a character meal (Hollywood and Vine at Disney's Hollywood Studios) and a tough-to-find 'Ohana reservation (located at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort). A search for lunch options for a party of two on June 8 lists over 40 options. The brand new Steakhouse 71 at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are short walks from Magic Kingdom park, allowing a chance for a mid-day park break and a romantic stroll along with delicious dining at one of the most iconic Disney Resorts Collection hotels. The good news just keeps getting better as a search for dinner options for a party of two on June 9 reveals over 50 excellent options! Some of the more romantic options include La Hacienda de San Angel at EPCOT, Tiffins Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom park, and Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort (fireworks included!)

I hope these examples help highlight the possibilities for dining during your honeymoon, Chance. If the wish your and your fiancee's hearts make is for a restaurant that does not currently show availability, I encourage you to just keep trying as dining availability is constantly changing in real-time to reflect changes in Guest itineraries. An online search for Disney dining reservation finders also reveals various services for securing any must-have reservations.

Upon arrival, be sure to pick up celebration buttons at a Guest Relations window or indoor retail location that let everyone know you're on your honeymoon. Bride and groom mouse ears are optional. Please let planDisney know if there's anything else we can do to help make your honeymoon special.

    Choose magic,
    Jennifer
