Hi. I'm going to Disneyland on January 19th through the 22. My question is how long does it usually take for the Haunted Mansion holiday to revert back to the classic Haunted Mansion one the holiday season is over? Thanks!

Hello, Jonathan! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for swinging by with your question.

I just love a chance to pop into the Haunted Mansion for a tour with the Ghost Host and to see the 999 Happy Haunts living their best lives. While we don't have any official word yet about when Jack Skellington and the citizens of Halloween Town will be exiting the mansion for the season, we can enlist the help of Madame Leota (and dates from previous years) to make our best guess. For the past several years, the transition period between the two beloved attractions has taken about ten days. That's some quick work from the Disneyland Cast Members! In 2022, the attraction was closed from January 10- January 20. The three years prior, the dates were January 7-17, January 8-18, and January 9-19. With this information, I'm hopeful that you will have at least one or two days during your visit to pop in for a spin on a Doom Buggy. You can keep an eye on the attraction page on the Disneyland website as your visit draws near to see the official reopening date.

I love a January visit to Disneyland. Honestly, I'm happy to be at Disneyland any day, but visiting at the beginning of the year brings cool weather and a great excuse for one of my favorite meals in the park... soup in a sourdough bread bowl! You can find this comfort food at French Market Restaurant and Harbour Galley in Disneyland Park, or Pacific Wharf Cafe in Disney's California Adventure. These locations all feature the opportunity to Mobile Order using the Disneyland app

One last tip for your January visit, wear layers! You may be happier in the mornings and evenings with an extra coat. You can always rent a locker at Disneyland if you don't want to carry your coat around the park in the middle of the day when the temperatures rise.

    Have a grim-grinning time!
