Hey there, hi there, Crystal! Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for dropping by with some really great questions!
Oh boy! Your first visit to Disneyland Resort! I am so excited for you to experience your first trip and I hope I can share some tips and tricks to help you have the best time possible. Southern California can be tricky around this time. By November, we are slowly heading to more fall-like temperatures, however, it still could be pretty warm. I just looked back at a picture from our trip last year at the beginning of November and I am wearing a tank top and remember being quite hot. However, even if it is on the warmer side, mornings and nights cool off quite a bit. I definitely recommend you bring layers, so a backpack or
renting a locker is a good idea to have a sweatshirt or jacket on hand. I say expect weather anywhere from 60 - 80 degrees.
I've taken many solo visits to the parks and I quite enjoy them. My suggestion would be to go ahead and download the
Disneyland app and get yourself familiar with it. There's lots of great information and features. On the map, you can select "Dining" and click on locations to see their menus ahead of time. My favorite feature is
mobile ordering, which lets you order food at many participating quick-service locations right from your phone so you don't have to wait in line. I definitely recommend maybe one dining reservation each day. For Disney California Adventure Park, my favorite is Lamplight Lounge. It's got great bites and drinks and the best views of Pixar Pier. The parks also have so many great snacks, so you may also just want to snack your way through the day. Churros and Dole Whips are iconic Disneyland snacks you need to at least experience once!
If you aren't going to be going on many attractions, I usually would say that
Disney Genie+ probably isn't worth it, however, as a solo Guest I would say it can still be a great idea so that you can have plenty of photos of yourself to document your first trip! Unlimited digital downloads of PhotoPass photos are included in Disney Genie+ and there are lots of great locations and some fun magic shots too!
Last, but not least, since it's your birthday be sure to stop by Guest Services as soon as you enter the park to collect your complimentary birthday button so that everyone can celebrate your special day with you! In Disneyland Park, this is located at City Hall, and in Disney California Adventure Park, you will find it at the Chamber of Commerce. You can also ask a Cast Member in any of the shops and usually, they have a few as well too.
Crystal, I am SO very excited for you to experience a magical first time and birthday all in one visit! If you have any other questions along the way as you plan, please come back and visit us again! See you real soon!
