Hey there, Naomi. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for swinging by with this MARVEL-ous question which I'm delighted to help with.
I can't think of a more fantastic way to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday than spending your time at the Disneyland Resort. First things first, make sure you have your theme park ticket and theme park reservation which are both required for park entry. If you are starting your day at Disney California Adventure Park, I highly recommend getting an early start and "rope-dropping" at the park. Typically, Guests will be let into the park on Buena Vista Street 30 minutes (unofficial and subject to change) before the official park opening time.
When the clock strikes opening time and that magical announcement is made, I would make a beeline towards Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! This is one of the more popular attractions in Avengers Campus, however if you get there first thing, you will most likely be rewarded with a shorter wait time. From there, I would head on over to WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure where you'll help Spider-Man get the Spider-Bot outbreak under control. If the line has gotten a little long, keep in mind that this attraction also has a Single Rider lane that can be used if your group doesn't mind splitting up. I've used this many times and find it so convenient and a quick way to ride the attraction.
Once you've had your arm workout from saving Avengers Campus from all of the Spider-Bots, you'll probably be a little hungry. My next suggestion would be to head on over to Pym's Test Kitchen where you'll find a variety of delightful options. I'll often order a Kids' Disney Check Meal so I have room to enjoy more snacks throughout the day. Quick tip,
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering is available at this location in the
Disneyland app and is extremely helpful in cutting down your wait time.
One of the biggest thrills in Avengers Campus (in my opinion) is seeing which superheroes (or villains) you might run into. Keep your eyes peeled as you can have some pretty interesting encounters. You can also catch various live entertainment throughout the campus, my favorite being Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! Check the Disneyland app for available showtimes.
Finally, I absolutely cannot forget to mention the highly anticipated debut of
"Rogers: The Musical" which opens on June 30th at the Hyperion Theater. If you watched the series "Hawkeye" on Disney+, then you know what I'm talking about and are probably just as excited. We just got
additional details and word that there will be a virtual queue for this show which I strongly recommend trying to join if you'd like to enjoy this show. It's definitely a must-do for me this summer.
As far as fireworks go, you can view Disney’s Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky at Disneyland Park. Check the Disneyland app or the entertainment schedule for showtimes. And for additional Disney California Adventure Park tips, check out my pals Tiffanie and Melissa on the recent planDisney podcast. They have so many great things to share!
Naomi, I hope this starts you off with some good ideas for your upcoming visit. If you need more ideas or have other questions, come back to see us -
even write me directly. After all, I can do this all day.
