Hello. I’m a Disneyland AP but clueless about WDW & just won a weekend trip to Orlando. Just 1 1/2 days of park time, should I try to park-hop or just do one park? We like all types of rides but mostly thrill, we love snacks & cocktails too. Help!!

    Hi there, Estela!

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. How amazing that you won a trip to Orlando! As someone who also frequents the Disneyland Resort, I would say that you are going to be amazed by the size of the Walt Disney World Resort. It is as big as a city with 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, and over 30 resort hotels! At the Disneyland Resort park hopping means walking across an Esplanade whereas at the Walt Disney World Resort it means you'll need to transfer via bus, boat, or monorail. I always plan an hour between transfers to account for possible wait time, travel time, and security lines.

I recommend viewing the park hours on the days of your visit. If parks close early, it may be best to stick to one park per day, but if open later, then you may have time to start an early morning in one park and hop to another. Each park has its charms, but since there are 4 parks and you have only 1.5 days, you will need to make some decisions!

In Magic Kingdom Park you'll find some familiar sights from the Disneyland Resort. While some attractions appear similar, they are actually slightly different such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Space Mountain. In Epcot you will get to explore a number of new sights. Since you love cocktails and snacks, this park is definitely for you! We love tasting our way around World Showcase in Epcot especially during a festival season. Disney's Hollywood Studios brings the movies to life and even puts you right inside the story in Toy Story Land. In Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park you can explore on a safari, travel to Pandora - The World of Avatar, and encounter thrills on Expedition Everest.

No matter what you choose to do, you will have a magical time, plus I have a feeling you will want to return back to see all the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. I hope this helped!
