Hi, I’m going to Disney world with my 1 year old daughter. I would like to use her liki trike from Doona is that allowed to bring?

    Hi Nina! Welcome to planDisney.

You are counting down the DAYS until your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. You will be in the magic so soon, and I am just so excited for you!

I'm glad you're thinking about what stroller will be best for transporting your Princess throughout her magical days. I was at the zoo earlier today and wishing my youngest was still stroller-sized! Disney days can be long, hot, and exciting, and a stroller is a must-have item, allowing our Mousketeers to rest, snack, soak up some shade, and save their energy for the most magical moments.

According to the Park Rules, your stroller must be no larger than 31" wide by 52" long. I looked up the dimensions of the Doona Liki Trike, and it looks like it is larger than this, which would mean it is not permitted in the Walt Disney World theme parks. Beyond that issue, wheeled recreational items such as bicycles are not permitted; since the Liki Trike has pedals, I suspect it would be considered a safety issue in the busy parks. I advise you to look carefully at the Park Rules and decide if you think your stroller fits within these guidelines; it would not be magical to arrive at the theme parks and have your stroller turned away.

Nina, when my kiddos were little, I always rented a City Mini stroller for our Disney vacations. It was a dream to push, had great storage, and even my daughter - who always preferred her push-trike to a stroller - was happy to hop in and out throughout our days. Disney's featured stroller provider is ScooterBug; if you contact them to rent a stroller for your visit, they will drop it at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You may also rent strollers in the theme parks, but be aware that those rental strollers may not be removed from the theme parks, so your daughter would need to walk or be carried between the park entrance and your car or the Disney resort transportation stop. Your friendly planDisney Panelists shared our tips for traveling with little ones (including stroller logistics) in this Disney Parks Blog article, and there's even more advice in our video library

Nina, I hope you and your princess have a wonderful time together at the Walt Disney World Resort. She is going to love waving at her favorite characters at the socially distanced character spots and cavalcades! I know you'll have your camera ready - those videos and photos of the littlest ones waving their tiny hands at beloved characters make my heart so happy and make the most precious memories. If you think of any further questions as you count down the days, please come back and see us.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
