I'm going to disney world for my senior trip in aug. I want to do the Akershus breakfast with the princesses, but seeing I'm 18, I'm not sure its worth it as it is fairly expensive. I want to do character dining. It's my mom and I. any tips on which one?

    Hi, Brianna!

My daughter is only going into the 8th grade but is already planning her senior trip to WDW!  You must be so excited.

Character dining is not cheap but it is a great way to enjoy a delicious meal while meeting your favorite Disney pals and getting photos.   Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is really a lot of fun and breakfast is my favorite meal there (they have cheesy potatoes that are out of this world!)  If you want to do a character meal with princesses, this is definitely my favorite and breakfast will be the least expensive meal of the day.

    Other great character dining experiences:

Crystal Palace - Pooh and Friends at Magic Kingdom (breakfast, lunch, or dinner)
Tusker House - Donald Duck and Friends at Animal Kingdom (breakfast or lunch)
Chef Mickey's - Mickey and Pals at the Contemporary (I like dinner here)

If I had to pick one, I would opt for Chef Mickey's for dinner.  There is something super fun about this meal and it is very "Disney!"  I like to go here on my arrival day.  We do this in lieu of a park saving us a day of park tickets and we start our vacation off with a welcome from Mickey; It just does not get any better than that!

Wherever you decide, book soon as character dining books up very quickly.  Wishing you a wonderful vacation and a fantastic senior year!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
