I'm going to disney world with a group of friends january 7th-14th and was wondering if it was realistic for us to budget only what we pay for flight + bundle including dining plan and hotel. We're poor college students and can't really afford much more.

    Hi Paul,

I remember visiting Walt Disney World as an impoverished college student too.  I understand your situation entirely!

If you have set aside enough money to cover your flight, hotel, and Disney Dining Plan, then you've covered most of your necessary expenses.  May I assume that you also have your theme park tickets worked into your budget?  If so, then you're in good shape.  I would plan to bring a little extra cash or perhaps just have a credit card on hand in case you wish to purchase an occasional souvenir or snack that is not covered by your snack credits on the dining plan.  Having a few extra dollars for gratuities is wise too.  Keep in mind that although your table service meals are covered on many of the Disney Dining Plans, gratuities and alcoholic beverages are not so plan accordingly.

Have fun in January with your friends!  Walt Disney World is an extraordinarily fun place for young adults.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
