Hi Lauren,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! A trip to Walt Disney World right before the holidays sounds magical! I have taken a few Christmastime trips to Walt Disney World, and it usually results in me trying to recreate a holiday dish or cookie to share with my friends and family back home. Luckily,
Disney Parks Blog has shared a few
holiday cookie recipes in the past, which makes it much easier to make the magic at home.
You should be able to
arrange to send home purchases at most merchandise locations and from the Front Desk of your Disney Resort. Shipping options and prices vary based on the size of the package and the final destination, so unfortunately, I’m unable to give you exact specifics regarding shipping time and rates.
There are a few ways you can go about getting your purchases home after your trip. It might be a challenge, but I recommend purchasing your gifts and shipping them home right away to allow for extra time, rather than sending them at the end of your trip. Some of my fellow panelists suggested packing or purchasing an extra suitcase so you can bring your purchases home with you. You may have to pay a baggage fee to the airline, but it may be less than the shipping cost! On a recent weekend visit to Walt Disney World, I packed a large suitcase rather than a carry-on, so I had lots of extra space to bring home Christmas gifts for my kids. You could also take your purchases to another shipping location outside of Walt Disney World Resort to see what options they have.
Right now, the My Disney Experience app is testing a "Find Merchandise" feature. While you're in Walt Disney World, visit the home page of your My Disney Experience app and scroll down until you see "Find Merchandise." You can search for specific items and check shop availability. If you don't have this feature in the app, you can also ask a Cast Member at one of the shop registers to look up an item for you.
I wish I could help guarantee Santa’s delivery by Christmas Day, Lauren! I hope you have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World and happy holidays to you and your family. If you have any more questions, we’d love to help you again at
planDisney!
