I’m going to Disney all next week. I saw there are a couple storms coming causing rain. Is this something that could change? Could the forecast turn for the better?

    Hello there, Melanie!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for bringing us a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. Your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is nearly here- hooray! While I understand you have some concerns about the forecast during your upcoming visit (and I can't control the weather), I'm here to help calm your nerves. Soon, you'll be having so much fun, you won't even have time to say "Tut tut, it looks like rain!"

Melanie, if a little black raincloud happens to threaten your theme park thrill-filled day, try not to fret. Oftentimes, the rain doesn't last all day and night, so chances are that you'll still get to enjoy some blue skies and sunshine during your stay! However, if your trip happens to be a particularly rainy one, my best advice is to embrace it and make magical memories nonetheless. Some of my family's most memorable moments at the Walt Disney World Resort involve rain. For example, my son and I were caught in a downpour at Disney's Hollywood Studios earlier this year. The theme park cleared out, so we enjoyed low attraction wait times and lots of belly laughs due to our soaking-wet appearances!

I'm happy to share that there are many indoor attractions and experiences awaiting you at the Walt Disney World Resort, Melanie. On rainy days, head to climate-controlled attractions like Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along at EPCOT, It's Tough to be a Bug at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, Toy Story Mania! at Disney's Hollywood Studios, or my son's current favorite: Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom Park! You could also pop into one of the many fabulous Table-Service restaurants and enjoy a leisurely meal while awaiting drier times. Alternatively, you could embrace the dampness and go for a wet and wild water ride! My family got soaked during a sudden rainstorm at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park recently, so we decided it was the best time to experience Kali River Rapids. It's a pretty special (although soggy) memory for all of us!

Melanie, I recommend packing ponchos or rain gear and a change of socks and shoes for your upcoming trip. This way, you can rotate footwear from day to day if needed. You can always purchase ponchos once you arrive, as well. You'll find that they're sold at most merchandise retailers on property! I hope this information helps you to feel prepared for your upcoming visit, Melanie. I know you'll make the most of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth and create special memories regardless of the forecast! If you have any additional questions before or during your vacation, you're certainly welcome to revisit us here at planDisney. We're always here to help!

    Ta ta for now,
