    Hi! I'm going to Disney 3/11. Both my mom and I have med problems-she has a fake knee and I will be just a week post radiation for cancer. I know there is a card available to help in the parks, but do I need a dr's note to get the GAC?

    Hey Lori, I am happy to tell you that Walt Disney World has made assisting guests with disabilities a priority. They have created the Guest Assistance Card (GAC) to aid visitors to the parks with a variety of special needs that may interfere with their abilities to enjoy attractions. In order to get a GAC contact Guest Relations as soon as possible upon arrival. The helpful cast members at Guest Relations are there to assist and will listen to the special needs requested. While you will not need a note from your doctor it will always help to bring any documentation you might have to assist the cast members. The GAC will allow you and up to five others with  you to enter certain attractions using an alternate more accessible entrance to fit your needs. I hope this helps you.
