i'm going to disney for 11 day with a family of 5, my boys are 14, 9, 8 i'm staying at the dolphin the first 7 days then heading over to the yacht club for the rest of the trip, should i get the dining plan? should i stay somewhere else inside disney

    Hi, Nancy!

I think your resort choices are great.  Just know that these two resorts are right next to each other, so your only reason for moving one of them would be to get to see a different "neighborhood!"  These Boardwalk area resorts are wonderful for access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.  If you did want a bit of change of scenery, you could maybe look into the Contemporary or Polynesian which are Magic Kingdom resorts.  But the choice is up to you!

As far as the Disney Dining Plan, you would only be eligible for the plan during your leg at the Yacht Club.  The Dolphin is actually a Starwood Resort, not owned by Disney.  This is not a huge deal unless you were counting on having the Dining Plan your entire stay. If that is the case, you might want to look into a Disney Resort in lieu of the Dolphin.

If you need more information on any of the resorts, let me know!  I would be happy to help you decide.  Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
