I'm going on a Disney Cruise in a couple months and I have purple hair! Is the provided shampoo and conditioner color safe or should I bring my own?

    Hi Caroline,

Welcome back to planDisney! You must be getting so excited about your upcoming Disney cruise.

I love the Disney Cruise Line toiletries, especially the shampoo and conditioner. The Sea Marine fragrance is soothing, and it makes my hair feel soft and shiny. I normally use purple shampoo to keep my gray hair bright, but I leave it at home on a Disney cruise.

To answer your specific product question, I turned to my good friend, Lynne, a frequent Disney cruiser who has rocked purple hair for several years. Like me, she foregoes her specialty shampoo when she sails with Captain Mickey. She said she usually uses a good purple mask before she departs, and, while she's on the seas, she doubles up on the conditioner to keep her thick, wavy hair tangle-free.

Did you know that there is a hair salon on the Disney Cruise ships? If you want to treat yourself to a blowout or an updo, you'll find the Untangled Salon on the Wish, Treasure and Destiny. On the other ships, the salon is part of the Senses Spa & Salon. I like to make an appointment for a pedicure or other service on embarkation day to start my vacation with some pampering.

    Happy sailing, Caroline!
